🔗 Share this article The Mighty Nein's Opening Sequence Selected the Wrong Critical Role Song This latest animated series, the newest animated adventure from Critical Role, unveiled a new opening credits. It showcases our favorite cast of misfits, misfits, and criminals fighting hard and making their mark, while teasing at several heart-wrenching backstories for characters including Liam O'Brien's wizard Caleb, and Travis Willingham's orc warlock, the character Fjord. Overall, the intro appears stunning. However, I felt that something was missing in the song choice. The intro employs "Welcome to the Continent", a truly stellar song created by artist Colm McGuinness. This piece from the official score of that title, the second one put out by Critical Role Productions LLC's record label their music brand. It's a great nostalgic option, and I believe that fans of the sequel series will love its inclusion. But for me, The series' opening fails to capture the excitement and energy that accompanied the show's live-play sessions. "Your Turn to Roll", composed by singer-songwriter the artist, was an instant classic in my view when it was initially unveiled in that year, and it improved further when co-founder the performer added lyrics to the melody for the animated Campaign 2 opening in the later year. Including singing from one actress, another performer, Travis Willingham, as well as Riegel himself, the song was catchy and fun. At the time, I hadn't seen the second campaign at that point, but this was such an earworm that I kept it on my phone. It's a song that excites you before you dive into an installment of adventurous fun. The show's opening with "the new song" doesn't strike the right notes in my opinion. It's a grand piece of music, but from what I know of the group, I feel that its tone is a little off. Naturally, the creators has stated that the series will have some changes and variations from the actual-play campaign. An adjusted mood for its opening appears as one of them. The Mighty Nein will be released on Prime Video from Nov. 19. If you can't wait until then, or wish to prepare to get to know the characters of Critical Role's Campaign 2, the actual play are available on the audio platform and YouTube.
