🔗 Share this article The Latest Relaxed Game Mode Sparks Heated Debates Regarding AI Players, XP Rewards, and Wait Times Over the weekend, Battlefield Studios introduced a fresh playlist called Casual Breakthrough. To put it simply, this mode resembles the regular Breakthrough setup but includes several key adjustments: Each team has only 8 real players, with the rest made up of 32 bots. Actions done by human gamers grant full XP, while AI activities provide reduced XP. Only two maps are available: Siege of Cairo and Empire State. Features like Player tags, accolades, and career stat updates are disabled. So essentially, the playlist delivers on its title: it's a casual take of Breakthrough. At face value, one could assume it's a good idea, since it provides additional choices for gamers seeking different ways to enjoy the title. But, if video games have taught us anything, it's that you can't please everyone. In other words, a lot of BF6 fans are mad. Player Reactions: Anger to Praise "Gamers prefer real players. Avoid making the mistakes of your rivals," reads one reply to the mode reveal. "Truly disappointing idea," comments another. Meanwhile, on the Battlefield subreddit, a player notes, "It's unclear where we are going with this title," while someone else details all the issues they consider to be broken in Battlefield 6: "Resolve glitches, fix drone glitch, correct rocket mechanics, adjust aiming after sprinting, improve hit detection. We don't need this bot mode." However, for every complaint, there are players sharing how much they're liking the new mode. "It's very fun to practice, real players prevent it from being a complete grind but it's quite laid-back," reads one Reddit comment. "This subreddit fails to see that there are gamers who have lives and can't play this game 24/7. Allow them to strike a balance," adds another. One reply via social media explains that as they're "a parent gamer with limited time, this is perfect for me," and another praises the mode for "avoiding intense competition." Valid Concerns and Player Feedback Despite the support, there are constructive reasons to complain about the new mode. Some users have highlighted that it will make queue times more extended for other modes because of the large amount of playlists in the game already. Similarly, some areas often face mostly bots in the existing playlists. Additionally, it appears somewhat counterintuitive that the mode does not begin without a required amount of human gamers, even though it primarily centers on combat against bots. Lastly, one of the biggest complaints is that Battlefield Portal was meant to provide full XP, including AI matches, but that was removed when they attempted to remove XP farming from the system. Thus this new playlist seems like the community meeting them halfway, according to forum feedback. Another describes this addition as the devs "making a mistake significantly, I had so much fun in the initial release, why did they feel the need to adjust it?" Future Prospects: Adjustments Be Made? Should the development team has proven anything to date with Battlefield 6, it's that they're paying attention and responding to feedback. Tasks being too difficult got fixed very quickly, just like the required Redsec challenges. Chances are that, should analytics shows this recent mode is underperforming to their standards, they won't be shy to change it again.
