Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three out of four Grand Slams during the season. Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in her remaining competitions of the year because of a medical condition she has been battling over the past 10 days. Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to regain her health before starting next year's training. Her upcoming training are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together in 2026. The tennis professional required blood pressure checks while playing the initial match with Ann Li in Wuhan and withdrew when behind 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity. Another medical visit was necessary medical attention at the Ningbo Open this week, where she lost in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round. Raducanu was also moving noticeably restricted in the deciding set against Zhu because of a lower back issue that has been a concern at times this year. Those results followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the top 30 globally for the first time for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses. She held three match points before losing to Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month. She secured twenty-eight matches this year and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March. The British number one advanced to the quarters of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament before losing in three sets to the world number four Pegula. She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig taking over in time for the US Open. The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the partnership will continue, with planned training sessions for the end of the year. Raducanu told that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret. She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their initial event as a team in August's Cincinnati tournament. Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she advanced to round three then falling to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
