The Austrian squad has revealed a new line-up for the 2026 Formula 1 season, moving up Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its A-team and handing British teenager Arvid Lindblad his debut F1 drive. The young driver, who has a Swedish father and a mother of Indian descent, will be the partner of Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the second team VCARB. These changes means Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda being without a drive post a half-decade in F1. Who is Arvid Lindblad? Arvid Lindblad drove FP1 for the Silverstone and Mexican Grands Prix this year. Lindblad has been identified as a potential future star by Red Bull since he was 12 years old. Regarding the company's young driver programme, a senior Red Bull figure previously said that Lindblad "looks really promising", highlighting his "raw pace". Red Bull has had a plan since last year to prepare Lindblad for his potential Grand Prix bow in 2026, including runs in F1 practice sessions at the British and Mexican races. The rookie said it was a "huge honour", adding: "Next season represents a big challenge, and I know there's much to understand, but I'm eager to collaborate with the team and meet the challenge. I can't wait to get started." He has won a couple of victories in F2 this year and is P6 in the championship heading into the season finale in Abu Dhabi. The Frenchman's Chance The French driver enjoys his first podium in F1, achieved at the Zandvoort race this season. Hadjar's F1 career started on a low note when he crashed during the warm-up lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. However, from that point, he has been one of the most impressive newcomers of the year. He included an excellent podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits in tenth place in the drivers' standings. A senior team figure commented: "Hadjar has shown great maturity and proved to be a fast adapter. Most importantly, he has the innate pace that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can excel next to Max." Hadjar described it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "prepared". Tsunoda's Exit For the seat at the junior team, Red Bull have preferred Lawson instead of Tsunoda. Lawson started 2025 with the main team but was moved back early in the year. However, he has settled back in at the junior outfit with notable results, convincing Red Bull he deserves more time. Tsunoda, in contrast, has been ejected after a difficult season. His highest finish is a P6, and he has accumulated a small fraction of the team's constructors' championship. The driver market moves mean that there remains no spot on the Red Bull programme for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 next season.
