President Trump Welcomes Families of Injured National Guard Personnel to the White House

Former President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the White House.

He added that he spoke to her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Heartbreaking Incident

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a shooting on Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Gatherings across the state have occurred in their honor.

White House Invitation

The commander-in-chief said he’s talked about a White House visit for the loved ones of both members of the state Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor her,” the president informed reporters. “And similarly with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Attendees gathered over the weekend at a local school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to assist policing efforts in the capital.

Honoring Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the individual that teachers desired. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that lifted those around her,” the principal, the head of her alma mater, stated to the press. “She was sweet, caring and always willing to help others.”

Service details for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Measures and Government Adjustments

Authorities have accused a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of homicide and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The incident caused the administration to pause asylum processing and cease issuing entry permits to possessors of travel documents.

Status of Wolfe

The airman, a native of the city, started his military career in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, per the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s leader the governor said on television.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi told the program that she also intended to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Impact of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a law enforcement officer with honor, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had fortitude,” Morrisey informed the audience at the vigil. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
