Loyal supporters of the pop star are urging that a individual who jumped a barrier and seized the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good debut be arrested or expelled from Singapore.

A viral footage depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside media personnel and rushing toward Grande while the performers proceeded down a promenade accompanied by fans.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo immediately pulled the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the gathering by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram recently that he was "free after being detained", though official papers revealed that he was scheduled to attend court on the following morning. It is uncertain if he was charged.

Pattern of Incidents

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a performance. His Instagram account features recordings of him disrupting other celebrity events, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the same location last December.

"There needs to be action enforced against him as this is obviously a legal violation," stated an Instagram user, in a reply to a video Mr Wen shared of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user questioned.

Supporters Voice Worry Over Grande's Past Trauma

Numerous fans blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the conclusion of her 2017 show in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and harming many.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" said one more comment on Instagram.

A number of supporters also criticised security officers at the premiere for not being sufficiently alert; while others called for social media platforms to remove Mr Wen's videos.

Reaction and Event Details

In videos spreading on the internet, Grande seemed startled when she was touched by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.

Grande has not issued a statement on the event, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.

Hundreds of attendees had gathered in a sea of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international debut in a Singapore shopping center, including several who had stood in line for as long as many hours before it began.

The film, to be released on November 21, is the second of a two-part adaptation of the popular theatrical show Wicked, which revolves around the unexpected bond between two contrasting characters.

The show itself is a spin-off of the 1900 book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a champagne pink sequin dress at the premiere while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.

They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the top-earning motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and earned 10 Academy Award nods, earning a pair for outstanding attire and artistic direction.
