Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' saying that attracts so many people into the National Football League

This outcome may have opened opportunities for the Patriots to move back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a schedule that gives them an edge over their 8-2 rivals

Over in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Rams had ideal outcomes to set up a monster clash next week, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award

Analysis - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen try too much or could it simply have been a bad day for the Bills?

Was it just an emotional comedown from beating the Chiefs last week or something more? This remains the question for the Buffalo team to address

The Bills had won seven in a consecutive games against the Dolphins but were second best from the start as the Miami team ran out 30-13 victors in an eye-opening result - and display

MVP quarterback Josh Allen only achieved the team's opening first down in the third quarter and first points in the fourth - admittedly Miami had ten days to prepare but it was still a massive egg laid by one of the NFL's top offences

Tua Tagovailoa passed for two touchdowns but rusher Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 total yards and two scores

Bottling up the league's best rushing attack was also key, with Cook and teammates recording just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the year and just over fifty percent their 161.5-yard average

Then there were the three critical turnovers, and the pair from Josh Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the end zone meaning a nine-minute possession produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that the Dolphins turned into a touchdown just two plays

It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a deficit on defensive side and Allen trying to overcompensate to dig his team out of it - not the composed, disciplined, balanced Buffalo team we've witnessed this year

The Dolphins have demonstrated a bit of everything this year so the jury's out on whether this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll need an instant response in a tough game against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the New England are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the American Football Conference East

Spotlight - Patriots See Path to Surprise Top Seed

Regarding the Patriots, they're one of three different eight and two teams in the NFL, all American Football Conference sides, but could they be the best?

One could find flaws in the Patriots, the Broncos and the Colts actually for dominating the weaker opponents, with just five of their total 24 wins achieved against teams with a positive record - and one example was the Colts beating the Broncos

The Broncos defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are masters of the final quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their primtime win in Buffalo seems like a statement

Their two defeats occurred in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's first three contests, with seven straight victories, just like Denver, from that point - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a week off to prepare was significant

Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he certainly earns point for courage after taking some hard tackles in Tampa but persevering to steer his side to victory

The defensive unit is solid and first-year rusher Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 yards and two exciting scores of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth different ball carrier to exceed 22mph this season on his first score

While you can argue who 'the top team' is technically, the Pats should be favourites to finish with the top record thanks to their remaining opponents - which features just a single matchup against a winning team, although a significant contest against Buffalo

Visiting Baltimore is also tough, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to play twice, the Chargers (who might also compete for top seed but encounter the same problem) and also the Packers on the schedule

The Indianapolis also play the Kansas City, and have the Seahawks, 49ers and two games with the 5-4 Jaguars to face. There's a long way to go but the door is open for a shock top seed in the American Football Conference

Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Week 11 Showdown

Two teams with solid claims to be better than all of the three eight and two teams are National Football Conference West opponents the Seahawks and Rams, who both scored forty points to go to 7-2 before next week's Hollywood blockbuster game between the two in LA

Both have secured four victories in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with top receivers, and defensive units giving up under 20 points a game

Both could easily be without a loss as well - particularly the Los Angeles as their pair of losses occurred in extra time against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a potentially winning field goal with the last kick blocked and returned by the Eagles for a touchdown

Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before falling to the final play of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they're genuinely among the best sides in the NFL

The next matchup on Sunday could be the best of the season to date

Top Performer - Taylor
